John J. Westra

Mr. Westra is an active trial lawyer with focus in cases of plaintiff personal injury, criminal defense and divorce litigation.  He now specializes in estate planning, real estate transactions and commercial litigation.

He was a DuPage Co. Public Defender and an Assistant Illinois Attorney General and a candidate for public office.  His distinctions are that he defended a capital murder case which resulted in the only case a jury in DuPage Co. has voted not to impose the death penalty, and he obtained the largest salmonella food poisoning settlement in DuPage Co.

He is licensed by the Illinois Supreme Court, and 7th Circuit Fed. Dist. Ct.   He holds active memberships in the DuPage Co. Bar Assoc., Ill. State Bar Assoc., and Christian Legal Society.  He is a member of Wheaton Bible Church. Mr. Westra, has served on many boards of directors, and has taught law at Trinity College and for many years at  Wheaton College.

Mr. Westra is a graduate of Wheaton College and of the Ohio Northern Law School.
